No longer fighting a losing battle (hair products) - R&B by Lush

I believe every perfume lover out there, using hair products knows what a pointless fight it is to try and find a hair styling product that doesn't have an overwhelming smell, that doesn't even need to clash with your perfume in order to annoy you - it's enough there is an additional smell wafting from you that isn't the perfume you applied and at the same time is something you cannot go without.

I cannot go without hair styling products as I have short hair (and it requires styling products) but I also like to use serums for the ends, and generally products that make my hair look nice and shiny. :)

I no longer remember where did I read about this product, but I bought it last summer and used it for a while until I somehow fell out of practice (most likely because I bought something new).

I still remember how for a few days I kept turning around and trying to find out where was this nice jasmine-y smell coming from? And I couldn't find it and I knew I wasn't applying a perfume with those notes.

Eventually it did dawn on me it was wafting from my hair. :)

Even if the product wasn't that good, I'd be buying it for the smell - it's strong and lasting but it's also so very nice to smell it wafting around you. I don't remember smelling a Lush perfume I liked as much as I like the smell of this hair treatment.

R&B stands for Revive and Balance and well, I can't say about revival as my hair didn't really need it but I can see it is soft and shiny (and smells great).

It is primarily meant for thick hair and I can understand that as it's quite thick in texture (like pomade) so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't fit the description, but those with thick hair probably know how difficult it is to hydrate your hair without making it look greasy. And this works great.
You would probably need to find your own amount to use because you can easily go overboard with this.

Basically, this product made me stop fighting the losing battle of hair products without a smell and I accepted this one whole-heartedly into my life. :)

  1. I knew immediately just what you meant about hair products and smells. :) This one sounds like a winner all around, and since I'm always on the lookout for hair products, I may brave the Lush store next time mine is empty. Thanks for the recommendation!

    1. He, he, he. A losing battle - truly. I even asked my hair-stylist if he knows of a product that doesn't smell much and he said he had the same problem I did.
I hope you try this one and it works for you. :)

  2. Ines, your review of this sounds so good that I would buy it immediately if I had thick hair. I have lots of hair but it's baby fine, unfortunately. Still I enjoyed reading about this ... it would be fun to sport shiny, jasmine-scented locks. :-)

    1. Sorry Suzanne, I definitely want to promote this product but unfortunately, I really believe it can work well only for thick hair. :)
Do you usually use/need any products for your hair?

    2. Oh yes, I understand. I'm really glad you made that clear in your review, what type of hair it would work best for.

I read your question back to me the other day and couldn't answer it because I couldn't remember the actual names of my products. :) But yes, I do rotate between 3 conditioners: Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk, Frederic Fekkai Technician Color Care, and a discontinued leave-in conditioner that I absolutely love (and have bought by the case from Amazon): Sunsilk Hydra TLC. I do have to condition my hair because of the highlighting and coloring, which roughs up the cuticle of the hair and actually is kind of good for me, since it keeps my hair from looking baby fine. :-)

Can you tell I'm just a little obsessed about hair? ;-)

    3. lol Suzanne!
I cannot tell you how funny I find your comment because, first, Ia m terrible with names (I forget even the names of authors whose books I enjoyed, along with the names of the books, and that's just one of the examples) and secondly, I am obsessed with my hair. :D
I was told by a friend who has high tolerance of quirks that I was a bit obsessed with my hair.
      So, I understand completely.
What I don't understand is how come other people aren't generally interested in the health and look of their hair?!
