Perfume trivia

This one is from my personal experience.

I am proud to say I seem to have turned my boyfriend into a perfumista! Or a word that describes that in a more masculine way. ;)

Anyway, he is not going to follow the new releases or look for interesting perfumes to try (he has me for that) but he will gladly try them and go a step further it seems. He started wearing perfume for sleep! And I don't. I can't believe it.
I started thinking how I might get into the habit because, you know, it IS a great habit but he beat me to it. And we can't both waft so much, so I'll have to stick to my wrists. Oh, well, as long as it smells great while I'm falling asleep, I don't care who wears it.

P.S. If you're wondering what he keeps wearing, it's Paestum Rose by Eau d'Italie.

  2. JoanElaine, I'm certainly pointing him in the direction I'd like him to take but he won't always take my advice. ;)

  3. Isn't it, BF? ;)
    It certainly makes me happy.

  4. How did you do that, Ines? Get a man to wear perfume to sleep, and a rose scent at that! I love men in roses **sigh**. You certainly trained him well. ;)

  5. Oh, I see I read just a little too quickly. He actually thought of this before you did, huh? What a guy!

  6. Suzanne, he really knows how to surprise me when I least expect him to. :)
When I was buying Paestum Rose, I thought he wouldn't want to wear it much. Just goes to show how little I know his perfume preferences (which I don't it seems, as I can never guess what he's going to like or not).
And in the end, he beat me to perfumes for sleep (I should really feel ashamed now). ;)

  7. Too funny! Looks like you've created a "perfumisto" Ines :)

  8. Perfumisto sounds good Tara! :) Reminds me of Mephisto. ;)

  9. I am happy for you and your nocturnal convert! Mr Bonkers is proving an intractable subject where perfume appreciation is concerned - at any time of the day really!

  10. I love that he's come over to "the dark side." (Or is it "the sniffy side?") ;)

I feel sorry for men who feel boxed into only letting certain kinds of pleasure into their lives. How nice that he's embraced something you feel passionate about too!

For now, The Other Nostril is mostly just happy to enjoy perfume on me. Knowing how Ms. Bonkers struggles with the "tastes" of Mr. Bonkers, lucky for me!

  11. Vanessa, I actually feel very lucky it turned out this way for me. Although I noticed that your situation with Mr. Bonkers is not that uncommon really. That's why you have us! :)

  12. LCN, I am still surprised by the way my boyfriend's perfume interest unfolded every time I think about it. I just didn't think he had that in him.

But then again, our sniffy side is something I believe everyone should cross over to - otherwise their lives are missing out on so much olfactory fulfillment.
